Our development of the fully automatic is on-going and despite the possible disappointment that we have not produced a fully automatic within only a few months of returning to the livestock industry, you can rest assured we will do by next season. We are convinced that if you try AutoMan we are sure you will not be disappointed.
The fact is that with AutoMAN you do actually have some real advantages over an automatic. First, the tag feels easier to use at the moment of piercing the ear. This is because you are not using up your manual power activating the spring which moves the tags along automatically. BY substituting a simple extra hand movement you actually save your energy and your money too ! Secondly there is nothing to go wrong. You will probably know that most if not all automatic feed systems can cause problems. Without it YOU are in control.
As in any tagging operation, do approach the ear as comfortably as you can. Think about hitting the ear with the pin as an olympic diver. No splashes means clean piercing. Left pic BAD - right pic GOOD - same lamb. You will also notice that Jason is tagging the LEFT EAR which is the preferred ear for EID in the UK, and although this is more awkward for right handers it is still practical despite the large horn full of tags.
